Shortly after, he started studying the saxophone in the wind band Unión Musical de Valladares. In 2016, Juan completed his undergraduate studies at CMUS Vigo with the highest honors, earning the final degree award. At the same time, he honed his skills at the Aula Galega do Saxofón. In 2020, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in music at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears. In 2023, Juan finished his Diplomstudium at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, where he is currently pursuing a Master's in Neue Musik - Ensemble under the tutelage of Álvaro Collao. Additionally, he is also studying the PPCM Postgraduate program at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz with Klangforum Wien.

In 2022, he made his successful debut with the Tonkünstler Orchestra, followed by performances with the RSO and Ensemble Kontrapunkte in 2023. In 2024, he performed with the Platypus Ensemble.
He also won first prize at the Impro-Parcours #2 competition in June 2022, together with saxophonist Martín Castro Tubío. Juan is deeply engaged in the exploration of modern saxophone techniques, which has led him to the field of free improvisation, collaborating with contemporary composers to develop new repertoire for the instrument.
He is regularly present at some of the most prestigious contemporary music festivals, including Wien Modern, Musikprotokol ORF, and Suena Festival, among others. Juan is a founding member of the Argo Kollectiv, an ensemble dedicated to contemporary music.
Currently, he teaches saxophone in Vienna at the Pro-vo Music School and Billrothgymnasium.
